Exciting Times

September has been such a good month for me because:

Firstly, I got my monthly pay cheque from real-life work.

Secondly, all the DJing I’ve been doing has got me a spot tonight at Nightingales’ main room alongside Booty Luv, Lil’ Chris and Platnum.

Lastly, because my wonderful missus went home to London, so I got a couple of days peace.

Roll on October.

Also, it’s 4pm and I’m still not wearing trousers and even if I had to put on trousers, I wouldn’t know where to start looking.  I think I’ll have a dozen shots of Sambucca instead.

The Students Are Back!!!

They really are back and even though they are living off my tax contributions to this country like a bunch of highly educated, unemployed scumbags (which, coincidently, they will probably end up being) they’re really nice people.  Sometimes.

But now the students are back, my DJing work-load has increased and I am really looking forward to it.  Over the summer, I contemplated DJing for other uni’s because even though I had great fun DJing at BCU (formerly UCE) events, there were large periods of time where I became frustrated (but I shan’t get into that – bitching has no place on a blog).  I am much more optimistic this year though.  With the Freshers (newbies to you and me) coming into town, I’ve got me a few gigs coming up to keep them nice and entertained.  Unfortunately, due me being engaged, I cannot take advantage of these young, fresh, naive teenagers which is most annoying but alas, I will get over it.  Most of them will probably end up with their first STD over the next few weeks anyway.  Bless.

So what will I be doing over the next two weeks?  Well, just three events for BCU so far:

22nd Sept: Aloha Party @ Bar42, Perry Barr – Opening night, so I’ve gotta be at my best and in a grass skirt.

26th Sept: Toons @ Bar42, Perry Barr – Biggest and best student night in town.

3rd Oct: Toons @ Bar42, Perry Barr – Same as above.  I don’t forsee it getting worse, but it could get better.  Either way, the best student night in town!

In other news, Facebook status updates are not that interesting anymore.  Genuine one from today:

“Nick Wassall has new pyjamas.”

Well congratulations, Nicholas.  I’m well pleased for you.  Really.  I wish I had some new PJ’s – I have to sleep butt-naked.
